The Practice, ER, Navy NCIS, Strong Medicine & The In-Laws

Fran Drescher...

is known to many of her fans as Fran Fine, the character she made famous on The Nanny in the 90's.  She directed the 100th episode of Strong Medicine on which I appeared.  I know so many of you want to know...  Yes she really talks like that!!

I'm kidding.  She doesn't really talk like that but the voice is just an exaggeration of her own.

Patrica Richardson...

was the series lead on Strong Medicine.  I enjoyed talking to her between takes about comfortably mundane subjects like how to program her TIVO.  She says it keeps recording movies that she didn't ask it to record.  Amazingly, they're movies in which she actually has an interest.  That thing is too smart I tell ya!!  A computer shouldn't be able to "learn" me like that!!  Big Brother really is watching me through my TV...

Sorry...  I'm back now...

James Spader...

...is in my opinion one of the finest actors working today.  If you'd like to see some fine examples of his thespian prowess, check out Supernova or the recently critically acclaimed Secretary.  He was also in Less Than Zero and The Watcher (with Keanu Reeves).

Maura Tierney & Goran Visnjic...

are easily recognized as Abby and Luka from ER.  While Maura was in the same scene that I was in, our characters had nothing to do with one another.  Nonetheless, when we were done shooting, she was gracious enough to take this picture with and tell me, "it was a pleasure working with (me)."  That was the only time we spoke.  Can you tell how long a day it was by the look on her face?  Fellow actors can be very kind when properly approached.  Just don't get them wet or feed them after midnight...

Mark Harmon...

by all reports was the nicest guy I was going to meet.  That's what everyone kept telling me all day.  Now that I've worked with him directly, I can confirm that he is indeed one of the nicest guys I've ever met.

Mark's been around a long time.  You can find him in an episode of Emergency.(Anyone old enough to remember that series?)  The episode (905-Wild) aired March 1, 1975...  But hey, the ladies still like him.

Michael Wetherly...

is a true professional.  My return to Navy NCIS found me working with both Mark & Michael.  They made it very easy for me to shine as well as them.  Some may recognize Michael as the never seen Logan Cale on James Cameron's: Dark Angel. Cheesy movie officianados may remember him as Boone in the USA original movie Cabin by the Lake with Judd Nelson.

Dennis Farina...

is surprisingly funny.  It might be hard for some people to think of him as a funny guy because of the many gruff roles he's played in feature films over the years.  But the truth is, he has a "give it a try" approach to comedy.  He'll say anything if he thinks it might get a laugh.  He's another actor I hope to work with in the future.  (My scene on the In-Laws was with Jean Smart...  I loved working with her as well.)
